The garage years
STRIDE began in 1925, in a converted garage outside Atheria, where coach Indra Vane started stitching reinforced training jerseys for the athletes on her own roster. There was no five-year plan — just a coach who was tired of watching good gear fail good athletes.
The earliest pieces were made in batches of a dozen, tested on the same hill circuit every weekend, and reworked before the next batch went out. That loop — make, test, fix, repeat — is still how every STRIDE product gets built today.
